Today, in 2021, JOSERA celebrates its 80th anniversary with 80 years of experiences in animal nutrition.
The history of JOSERA – the company behind JOSILAC
JOSERA has been successful in the animal nutrition and food industry for 80 years. As a medium-sized family business, the company management is now in the third generation. JOSERA is continuously developing and acting sustainably in the areas of innovation, responsibility and stock security! The history behind JOSERA begins with two visionaries: Joseph and Pauline Erbacher, who founded JOSERA at the time of the Second World War with a fodder lime production. Today, the sortiment consists of silage inoculants, milk replacers, mineral feeds and speciality products, pet food as well as human nutrition.
2019 - 30 years of the ERBACHER – FOUNDATION
In 2019, we have been supporting worldwide aid projects with our foundation for 30 years.
2013 - Award for the Climate Protection Prize
Since 2012, JOSERA has had a biobed for biological waste gas purification. With the help of the biological cleaning concept, which is based on microorganisms, it is possible to sustainably clean the entire exhaust air from animal feed production. Therefore, the Erbacher Group was awarded the Climate Protection Prize 2013 for "special activities in climate and environmental protection" by the nature conservation organization Bund Naturschutz in Miltenberg.
The decisive factors were the high-bay warehouse made from regional, renewable raw materials, the increasing raw material deliveries by rail and the exemplary energy management system.
2012 - Own reference laboratory
The JOSERA laboratory has been in existence since 2012. It scrutinizes both raw materials and finished goods using state-of-the-art, high-precision technology. The analytical equipment delivers precise measurement results. Independent, state-commissioned auditors formally confirm the highest standards for the JOSERA laboratory with laboratory accreditation according to ISO/IEC 17025. ISO/IEC 17025 is the global quality standard for testing laboratories. The Agricultural Testing and Research Institutes (LUFA) are also accredited according to this standard.
2009 - Expansion of their own rail siding
In 2009, JOSERA is expanding its private rail siding. As a result, 45,000 tons of raw materials are transported by rail instead of road each year. The company thus avoids around 4,000 truck transports annually, which means considerable relief for roads, residents, and the environment.
2008 - Expansion to Poland and Ukraine
Exports to Poland and other Eastern European countries have increased significantly over the years. JOSERA responds to the growing demand by building a modern feed plant inNowy Tomyśl, Poland in 2008. JOSERA continues to expand and establishes a sales company in Ukraine.
2006 - Takeover of the company management by the third generation

This confirms JOSERA's continuous innovative strength and the quality leadership of JOSERA products and technical advice.

2000 - Open declaration of products
The JOSERA quality guarantee has always ensured the use of flawless, high-quality raw materials. JOSERA focuses on transparency and takes a leading role in the open declaration of products. While the feed regulation allows the semi-open declaration of products, where all ingredients are listed in descending order by weight, JOSERA lists all raw materials with percentages in 2000.
1999 - JOSERA Polska
JOSERA founded the sales subsidiary JOSERA Polska in Poland in 1999. In the meantime, the JOSERA agricultural and pet food products are distributed in many European countries.

We have been working with biological silage additives - mainly homofermentative bacterial products - since the beginning of the 90s. We also started with the branded product "Josilac". Since then, we have greatly expanded this area.
Silage inoculants are an essential input for our mineral feed customers and round off our range for forward-looking dairy farmers. High-quality basic feed is the foundation of successful feeding.

Not even twenty years after the second factory was built, the capacity of it was too limited. Therefore, Joseph Erbacher acquired a large plot of land in the Kleinheubach industrial area in 1980. It offers potential for further expansion projects. In the following years, the company grew continuously. In addition to the new agricultural production facility, a new laboratory, a technical center, and a new administration building are built. Meanwhile, more than 500 retailers in Germany distribute the JOSERA products.
1972 - Introduction of B-vitamins in cattle feeds
